In our 24th episode of the Madness Chronicles, we’ll take a look at the madness in the continuing alarm of climate change. Remember that madness is a state of being mentally ill, especially severely, extremely foolish behavior, and a state of frenzied or chaotic activity. Let’s take a look at the ramblings and rousing of climate madness.
In a recent Ted Talk, disaster recovery lawyer (seriously, did you know we had such a thing?) Colette Pichon Battle told participants that scientists predict climate change will displace more than 180 million people by 2100. She says it will be a crisis of “climate migration” the world isn’t ready for. She urged everyone to radically restructure the economic and social systems driving it all. Others believe it to be a human rights issue.
Pope Francis recently called for a ‘new economy.,’ An economy that is sustainable and supports the planet. He made those remarks in a recent address to the Vatican’s diplomatic corps, the Pope strongly criticized the response of the world’s governments to the catastrophic effects of climate change, calling their efforts “very weak” and “a source of grave concern.” Is it just me, or what ‘catastrophic’ effects have we seen?
Mary Daly, San Francisco Fed President, recently said that climate change is critical to a bank’s mission. The Fed, ECB, Bank of England, and Bank of Japan have now embraced climate change as part of their mission. Bank of Japan Governor. Haruhiko Kuroda warned, “The challenges posed by a string of recent natural disasters and the potential hit to the economy from slowing overseas growth should be better addressed by government with fiscal policy and structural policies.” These bankers concluded that loans are going to have to be tied to a borrower’s preparation for climate change? Remember, he, with all the money, makes all the rules.
A George Soros-linked group has joined forces with the mainstream media to ensure climate skeptics are silenced on YouTube. The group, by the name of Avaaz, is a left-leaning non-profit group. They published a report on its website that claims YouTube is “profiting by broadcasting misinformation” to millions of people by giving climate denial videos too much prominence. They are leading other groups in a coalition to make YouTube block the voices of climate skeptics. Free speech?
Starbucks, the self-appointed poster boy for the Left, is calling on customers to change their ways. To wit, by 2030, the cafe chain is targeting 50% reductions in the amount of water it uses, the carbon it emits, and trash it sends to landfills. Starbucks’ hired environmental consultants warned customers that the best thing they could do to reduce the company’s harmful impact on the planet would be to buy cheaper drinks and forego the milk.
Instead of buying fancy frappucinos and indulgent espresso-based desserts, customers would do better to buy simple straight black espresso. For you folks who must have the frappucino, Starbucks says you should think about skipping the whipped cream. Adding whipped cream to millions of drinks emits 50 times as much greenhouse gas as the company’s private jet. You truly can’t make this stuff up. Wall Street wasn’t impressed, but maybe all those in line for their frap’s will be?
With all the China Virus hysteria we’re bombarded with today, they might not need climate change to bring us all into submission, but who knows? May we wake from this madness before it’s too late. I wish you good health, and until next time, have fun, enjoy life, and watch out for the madness amongst us. It’s getting out of hand.
